Ellis Gordon, Jr. is a founding principal of Gordon/Barash Associates, Inc., a full service financial advisory group. Prior to forming Gordon/Barash Associates, Inc., Mr. Gordon served for seven years as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at Founders National Bank of Los Angeles (FNBLA- now known as OneUnited Bank). One of the four members of the senior management group, Mr. Gordon was the architect of the Credit Administration Division. Before joining FNBLA, Mr. Gordon's banking career encompassed fifteen years. During that time he served as Vice President & Manager of the Century City (headquarters) office of Capital Bank of California, Vice President & Senior Account Manager at the South Bay Business Banking Center of Crocker National Bank where he was responsible for justifying, setting up, as well as staffing the Banking Center, and Assistant Vice President & Manager of the 54th & Crenshaw office of First Interstate Bank of California. Preceding his banking career, Mr. Gordon was the managing partner at Resitec, Inc. (Building Contractors). Mr. Gordon is a licensed general building contractor with a B-1 license. At William H. Lockert & Assoc., Inc. (Real Estate Developers) he served as Vice President responsible for all financial planning and budgetary functions. Mr. Gordon serves on the Board of Trustees of First African Methodist Episcopal Church, as well as on the Loan Committee of the Micro Loan Program. He was co-founder of the Richard Allen Men's Society (RAMS, an activist group). Furthermore, Mr. Gordon serves on the boards of the following entities; Corridor Economic Development Corporation, FRIENDS- The Foundation of the California African American Museum and The Ethnic Coalition. He is a member of the National Black MBA Association and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Gordon was a member of the Loan Committee of Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation, a Coro Southern California board member, a Freddie Mac's Affordable Housing Advisory Council member, The Home Loan Counseling Center board member and a member of the Credit Committee of the Los Angeles Community Development Bank. Mr. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas. He obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance and Marketing from the University Of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. |
