What is a Peer? In behavioral health, a Peer is usually used to refer to someone who shares the experience of living with a mental health condition.
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, 8 session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussions and informative videos.
Become a Peer Mentor for NAMI Urban LA
Join our team as a NAMI Peer Mentor in our Peer Program Training Initiative. Empower participants in their journey towards wellness by promoting understanding, mutual growth, and effective communication in a safe and empathetic setting.
Participants can obtain training, career support, and certifications such as Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists and Mental Health First Aid certifications.
