The Peer Resource Centers
The Department of Mental Health Peer Resource Centers (PRC's) offers a one-stop shop for resources related to people living with mental health challenges (Peers). They were developed as a response to our community’s need for ongoing support in the form of resources, hybrid activities within various service planning areas (SPA). Peer Resource Centers employ certified Peer supporters who use their lived experiences to offer empathetic, effective support to improve life outcomes. This diverse work setting, emphasizes empowerment and whole-person care. PRC's often include groups, meetings, and events.
What is a SPA?
A Service Planning Area, or SPA, is simply a specific geographic region within Los Angeles County. Due to the large size of LA County (4,300 square miles), it has been divided into 8 geographic areas.
SPA 4 Peer Resource Center
The Metropolitan Los Angeles Regional Health Office (Service Planning Area 4) serves the communities of Boyle Heights, Central City, Downtown LA, Echo Park, El Sereno, Hollywood, Mid-City Wilshire, Monterey Hills, Mount Washington, Silverlake, West Hollywood, and Westlake.
